OUR TOP 5 MOTIVATIONAL & INSPIRATIONAL READS

What better way to welcome February than with a great book!
Bestselling lists have been rife with motivational & mindful books as of late – so to assist with the confusion of where to start we have put together a list of our top 5 and there is something for everyone.

1. Get Your S**t Together – Sarah Knight

Following the success of ‘The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**K’ – Sarah Knight the ‘anti guru’ is back with the next step in her honest, funny and practical advice. This is not another self-help book but a guide to what you can achieve if you “get your s**t together”. If the title is not enough to entice you then the rave reviews should do it!

2. The Little Big Things – Henry Fraser

Being challenged in life is inevitable, but being defeated is optional…Henry Fraser was 17 years old when a tragic accident severely crushed his spinal cord. Paralysed from the shoulders down, he has conquered unimaginable difficulty to embrace life and a new way of living. Through challenging adversity, he has found the opportunity to grow and inspire others.
This book combines his wisdom and insight into finding the gifts in life’s challenges, and will resonate with anyone facing an obstacle, no matter how big or small. It includes Henry’s thoughts on how to look at the right things and avoid the wrong, finding progress in whatever you do, and acknowledging and accepting the darkness when it comes. Right at the heart of Henry’s inspiring philosophy is his belief that ‘every day is a good day’.
‘Henry Fraser is one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met’ J.K. Rowling
A great read for putting life in perspective and seeing the strength of the human spirit – everyone should read this!
Another way to add a little inspiration into your home would be to purchase one of Henrys amazing prints take a look at his art shop here.

3. The Power of Positive Thinking – Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

Peale shows you what you can accomplish through positive thinking and he doesn’t mean fame and fortune but something far more important a content and happy life. Our favorite advice form Peale is to Be kind to yourself – life is too short to be anything less.

4. The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World – Dalai Lama & Desmond Tutu

In April 2015, Archbishop Tutu travelled to the Dalai Lama’s home in Dharamsala, India, to celebrate His Holiness’s eightieth birthday and to create this book as a gift for others.
Two global heroes look back on their long lives to answer a single burning question: how do we find joy in the face of life’s inevitable suffering? Famously content and optimistic men who have overcome so much share their stories and prove even those who have been through some of the darkest times can turn these negative experiences into a joyful life.

5. Happy – Fearne Cotton

A great introduction to mindfulness with practical tips on finding joy in the every day. Cotton uses her own personal experience to encourage drawing, painting and cooking to help create focus and channel emotions. Whether you sit and read the whole way through or pick it up and read when days seem tough – we think it’s a positive and uplifting addition to any bookshelf.
